Custom Voltage Regulator

Elkon was commissioned to supply a custom-built panel incorporating a 600 V – 500 HP DC voltage regulator.

The project included:

• an input circuit breaker
• a contactor
• the DC converter, which converts alternating current to direct current

To improve current stability, three smoothing coils were installed between the contactor and the DC drive. A control panel has also been integrated into the left side of the panel. A second panel with a 5 HP variable-frequency drive was also part of the project.
